Hay que decir que el equipo de la Federación Catalana ganó las dos primeras ediciones de la Copa del Mundo y que , en la pasada edición, jugada el año 2008 en la localidad holandesa de Papendal, la victoria fue para Irlanda. Los equipos participantes son Alemania, Andorra, Australia, Catalunya, Galicia, Gran Bretanya, Holanda, Irlanda, Noruega, Portugal, Suïssa y Chile. **El actual seleccionador catalán y gerente del Pitch&Putt Papalus, Xavier Ponsdomènech,** se muestra confiado aún reconociendo que el hecho de que el campeonato se celebre en tierras irlandesas le da cierto favoritismo a la selección amfitriona al jugar en un circuito muy adaptado para la práctica de su juego. El equipo catalán estará compuesto por Fernando Cano del P&P Gualta, Marc Lloret del P&P Platja d’Aro y Antonio Penalva del P&P Can Rafel.
