Hoy en día, se retoma la tradición de encender la hoguera de San Juan con la llegada de “La Flama del Canigó”. **Esta llama también símbolo del inicio de la verbena de San Juan** o también conocida como la Noche del Fuego o la Noche de las brujas, es una tradición que se celebra en los Países catalanes durante la noche entre el 23 y el 24 de junio, esta es una de las noches más cortas del año debido al solsticio de verano. No se sabe ciertamente cual es el origen de esta fiesta, pero algunas de las prácticas y costumbres de esta noche están basadas en celebraciones paganas. La celebración se basa en el triunfo de la luz sobre la oscuridad.
