[Blog](https://blog.lloretdemar.org/?hsLang=ca-es) [Home](https://blog.lloretdemar.org/?hsLang=ca-es) [Blog](https://blog.lloretdemar.org/ca) Ball de plaça # Ball de plaça [![](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png "Ball de Plaça")](https://static.hsstatic.net/BlogImporterAssetsUI/ex/missing-image.png) A banda de la [processó marítima de Santa Cristina](http://www.lloretdemar.org/info/redirectorPagina.jsp?elem=589&telem=1), un dels altres actes centrals del dia 24 de juliol és el [Ball de Plaça o la Dansa de les Almorratxes.](http://www.lloretdemar.org/info/redirectorPagina.jsp?elem=590&telem=1) Aquest ball, de temps immemorials, es basa en una tradició que explica que en èpoques en què la costa catalana era atacada sovint per musulmans i barbarescos, arribà a [Lloret](http://www.lloretdemar.org/info/)un àrab, jove i ric, que s'enamorà perdudament d'una donzella cristiana de la nostra vila. El jove va utilitzar diferents estratègies per convèncer la noia perquè s'hi casés; però la noia, a causa de les diferències religioses, el rebutjava cada vegada. Finalment, un dia de ballades, l'àrab es presentà davant la multitud vestit amb les seves millors gales. S'adreçà a la donzella i li oferí un gerret de vidre (almorratxa) ple d'aigua d'olor. La noia, indignada per l'atreviment, prengué el gerret i el va rebotir a terra, on es féu miques. Conten que el musulmà, avergonyit, tornà a l'Àfrica, i que la noia, dissortada i trista, es tancà en convent. Actualment, la[Dansa de les Almorratxes](http://www.lloretdemar.org/info/redirectorPagina.jsp?elem=590&telem=1) rememora aquesta llegenda i es balla cada any els dies 24 i 26 de juliol. Els protagonistes són quatre parelles de balladors. Les noies van de llarg, elegantment vestides –generalment, de blanc–, i els nois també surten ben mudats, amb vestits foscos. Les noies són les quatre obreres de Santa Cristina, que són elegides per un any. Durant la primera part de la dansa, de música lenta i cerimoniosa, els components de cada parella ballen agafats de la mà dreta. Posteriorment, les quatre noies, recordant l'episodi de l'àrab i la cristiana, agafen l'almorratxa i la llancen a terra. La llegenda diu que si l'almorratxa es trenca, la noia es casarà durant l'any següent. Acaba l'acte amb una música festiva, ben diferent de l'anterior, coneguda amb el nom de Toquen a córrer. #### T’ha agradat aquest article?
